From Bad Conditions

2023
“From bad conditions
I have found these photos among films, negatives, and slides where all the information about them has been lost due to the absence of their photographer, leaving their identity filled with doubt and uncertainty for us. What matters most to me in these photos is the presence of a crowded space that, by removing the photographer’s name and their intention, has transformed into a timeless and placeless space.
He told me, It’s been quite a while since my works haven’t found their place on the wall, due to unfavorable circumstances.” from bad conditions.
Perhaps these moments are the most important moments of life, something that is only understood in an instant and never again. Photo paper is deteriorating, photo and film printing laboratories are falling apart, labs are crumbling. Nature, the city, and the people within the photos are in a state of decay. It’s only when something becomes mystical that we can talk about photography or art in general, in my opinion, when something becomes mystical, it transcends words and speech.
I feel embarrassed to be alive in these days, embarrassed to eat, read, and sleep. I feel embarrassed about all the moments I’ve witnessed.”
It’s been quite a while since my works haven’t found their place on the wall, due to unfavorable circumstances.”
